Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
* Annual Salary: £42,000 (including £2,000 call-out allowance)
* Location: Bury St Edmunds
* Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday
We are seeking a skilled multi skilled engineer to join our team in Bury St Edmunds. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in mechanical engineering, looking to apply their expertise across various engineering tasks on-site. Experience in HVAC systems is also highly beneficial.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Carry out work assignments issued and maximise the effectiveness of the shift at all times by ensuring efficient completion of tasks.
* Maintenance and hygiene of equipment and support logistics teams.
* Provide support to the team during breaks and absences and work together to ensure completion of their duties.
* Follow all work instructions, procedures, job descriptions at all times.
* Ensure that all Work Orders, Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks issued to the shift are completed.
* Complete and check all necessary paperwork.
* Work with other functions as part of the manufacturing team to ensure efficient running of the site and carry out prioritized work as agreed.
* Resolve mechanical and/or electrical problems in a timely fashion.
* Provide the Engineering Manager with information on all engineering downtime attended on shift, related quality issues, work orders completed, PMs completed, and other details as required.
* Identify and analyse problems before crises and determine appropriate action and follow-up.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
* Experience in HVAC or Refrigeration systems is highly advantageous.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
