Department overview The Financial Services team is responsible for the development and operational management of both retail point of sale finance and wholesale funding across all regions. Job purpose To be responsible for the Aston Martin Wholesale Finance Programme and all interacting elements, providing funding facilities to Aston Martin and its approved dealers thereby assisting retails and wholesales within dealers and providing a consistent cash flow for Aston Martin. This involves managing the multi-level relationship with a number of external banks, credit insurance companies and legal counsel, as well as several internal relationships. Key duties and responsibilities Sole responsibility and accountability for the Aston Martin Wholesale Finance Programme – including:- Contractual management and development of partner banks Sole responsibility and accountability for successful funding runs Sole responsibility and accountability for credit terms for dealers Operational oversight of the Wholesale Finance function Management of AML’s credit insurance policy On the water funding programmes Management of any agreed internal “ledger funding” agreed with dealers in relation to car sales Primary account responsibility for AML’s Credit Insurance Brokers Primary accountability and responsibility for the Credit Insurance relationship including:- Commercial negotiations Policy adherence management Instigating and maintaining insured credit limits for all approved dealers Production of reporting as required in relation to WFP. Lead and secure the refinancing of the Aston Martin Wholesale Finance Programme as required Partnering with the Legal team, liaise with approved legal counsel in relation to changes / amendments to the WFP including finding new potential partners Production of monthly performance and ad hoc reporting as required Delegate responsibility for the Head of Aston Martin Financial Services Ad hoc support for the retail finance operations Experience and qualifications Essential experience Experience of operating / managing Wholesale Finance programmes Contractual and operational knowledge of wholesale finance mechanisms such as Receivable Purchase Schemes or Asset Securitisation schemes Able to conduct detailed due diligence on potential banks and entities applying to the WFP High level of negotiation and dispute resolution experience Project management and planning with both internal and external resources Detailed knowledge of contractual arrangements with dealers and dealer stocking practices Preferred experience High level of commercial negotiation and dispute resolution experience at director level and above Ability to analyse financial statements for risk management purposes Essential education/ qualifications University graduate Required skills/ behaviours Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Wholesale Finance Communication – Ability to communicate at all levels of hierarchy written and verbal, providing information and ideas that are presented in a clear and concise fashion. Continuous improvement – As the department develops, the Senior Manager will need to develop their own improvements of the department’s systems, processes, reports and team development Challenging Thinking – Necessary to ensure that the policies, standards, processes and documentation created are concise appropriate as well as an ability to query whether the most appropriate or optimum methodology is being applied Collaboration – An ability to lead cross-functional workstreams across all areas and levels of the business and external clientele is a necessity Customer Focus – The WFP is a critical component of the Dealer Network and the Dealers purchasing with Aston Martin, and therefore an understanding of the customer(s) and the products with a drive to meet exacting standards is essential.
