About the Role
The Sanctions Officer will be responsible for managing risks related to international sanctions within the Corporate Business of this speciality insurance firm. The role ensures compliance with national and international sanctions regulations while safeguarding the company’s reputation.
Reporting to the UK Branch Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and MLRO, as well as the corporate Head of Anti-Financial Crime (AFC), the successful candidate will play a key role in providing oversight and advisory support on sanctions-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide expert advisory support to the UK Branch on international sanctions risks, ensuring alignment with Group Policies and Guidelines.
2. Escalate significant matters, including potential breaches requiring regulatory notification, to the UK Branch CCO, MLRO, and Head of AFC.
3. Offer guidance on the interpretation and application of international sanctions regulations within the business.
4. Monitor developments in international sanctions laws and inform the business of their potential impact.
5. Conduct risk assessments and second-level controls in line with Group-level methodologies and standards.
