Overview
We are seeking a skilled Roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roofing and construction, demonstrating proficiency in various techniques and tools. This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, capable of working at heights, and possesses a solid understanding of schematics and building codes.
Duties
* Install, repair, and maintain roofs using a variety of materials including shingles, metal, and flat roofing systems.
* Read and interpret schematics to ensure accurate installation and compliance with safety standards.
* Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for roofing tasks, ensuring all equipment is maintained in good working order.
* Perform heavy lifting as required during the installation process, including moving materials to elevated areas.
* Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to timelines.
* Conduct inspections of roofs to identify potential issues or necessary repairs.
* Engage in fabrication tasks as needed, including cutting materials to size and welding components together.
* Assist with carpentry and masonry work related to roofing projects.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in roofing or a related construction field is essential.
* Familiarity with various roofing materials and techniques is highly desirable.
* Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
* Strong understanding of schematics and construction plans.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 kg) and work at heights safely.
* Basic knowledge of plumbing and masonry principles is an advantage.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
