We are seeking

a highly motivated Research Assistant to join the research group of Dr Giulia Orlando in the Department of Oncology, University of Oxford. This exciting role will support research focused on the role of RAS pathway activation in gene regulation and tumour development in colorectal cancer.The project uses cutting-edge technologies—including bulk RNAseq, ATACseq, and 10X single-cell multiome—combined with 3D organoid models, iPSCs, and primary patient samples to uncover new therapeutic targets. As part of the team, you will help develop APC/KRAS mutant models using CRISPR gene editing and contribute to generating innovative co-culture systems to study epigenetic changes in the tumour microenvironment. You will receive hands-on training in organoid culturing, CRISPR editing, FACS, bulk and single-cell genomics, and benefit from close interaction with collaborators and experts in these techniques. The position offers a solid foundation for candidates considering PhD studies and supports active scientific development. This role is offered on a full-time basis and is fixed-term for 1 year in the first instance. About you You will hold an undergraduate degree in genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field, with a genuine interest in epigenetics, cancer biology, and tumour microenvironment. You will have strong organisational skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team setting.
