Right now, we are looking for a Coordinator to join our Transport Team at our Fulfilment Centre in Stafford.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for all operational and site aspects of transport for our Stafford Fulfilment Centre and its off-site partners. Maintaining an initiative-taking approach to risk management and adherence to site health & safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
You will ensure the operation consistently meets the requirements of the business, in terms of quality, productivity, whilst taking care of daily and weekly operations reporting and key performance indicators management. Creating effective working relationships within Transport, to build a climate where colleagues feel valued and engaged.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Resource Planning: Work allocation of drivers and driver mates in line with daily schedule requirements to ensure service KPI and a cost effective operation.
2. Logistics Management: Coordinate the day to day despatch schedule, identifying and communicating any risk.
3. Communication and Coordination: Serve as the point of contact for drivers and other relevant parties, ensuring clear communication and smooth operations.
4. Compliance and Safety: Adhering to transportation regulations, ensuring safety standards are met, and managing any necessary paperwork or documentation. Managing equipment defects to resolution and ensuing all equipment meet their required servicing/MOT.
5. Accident/Incident: Report and escalate all incidents and assist in completing the necessary case via the online portal.
6. Problem Solving: Addressing and resolving any issues that arise during the transportation process, such as delays or unexpected situations.
7. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and other relevant data, often using transportation management software.
8. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in transportation processes and contributing to efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
9. Cross Functional Working: Liaise with cross functional teams including external 3PL, warehouse and Delivery Support.
What We’re Looking For:
10. Previous experience in transport coordination, fleet operations and driver scheduling.
11. Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
12. Confident using transport software, spreadsheets, and internal systems.
13. A proactive problem-solver who can adapt to changing priorities.
14. A team player, flexible and reliable, with a professional approach.
