This full-time role is ideal for someone who can positively impact young pupils facing emotional or behavioural challenges helping them thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. Role Overview: As a Primary SEMH TA, you will support primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs through consistent, tailored support that promotes emotional well-being and classroom engagement. Responsibilities as a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant: Provide targeted 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEMH needs. Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop coping and communication strategies. Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and outside agencies to implement individual support plans. Foster a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment. Assist pupils in building self-esteem, confidence, and resilience. Requirements for Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant: Previous experience supporting children with SEMH, behavioural, or additional needs. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour management. A full UK driving licence with business insurance (essential for off-site activities or travel between provisions). Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one. Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps over the last 10 years.
