We are looking for a dedicated Special Needs Teacher to join our welcoming and forward-thinking special school in Didsbury. Our school provides a caring, inclusive, and supportive environment for children and young people aged [insert age range, e.g. 5-16] with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
About the Role
As a Special Needs Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of your pupils.
Create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment that encourages independence and confidence.
Work closely with a skilled team of teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff to meet pupils' individual Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
Use a range of creative approaches - including sensory, visual, and experiential learning - to inspire every pupil to achieve their personal best.
Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues to promote inclusion and wellbeing.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Is a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with experience or a strong interest in teaching pupils with special educational needs.
Has a nurturing, patient, and resilient approach to teaching.
Is committed to inclusive education and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
Can adapt teaching methods to meet a wide range of learning and emotional needs.
Values teamwork, communication, and professional growth.
