Professional Services Account Manager at Venesky-Brown Recruitment

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Director of Corporate Services for an 8 month contract on a rate of £49.09/hour (PAYE).


Responsibilities

* Ensure financial reporting, financial management and accounting systems are fit for purpose and compliant with all financial, legislative and audit requirements. Conduct Annual Report and Accounts, appropriate year‑end activities and the Consolidation packs are completed to timetable.
* Act as a senior leader, member of the Executive Team & Board, providing leadership and overseeing day‑to‑day operations of the organisation. Collaborate with peers to deliver business, managing risks and resources effectively across divisions.
* Operate with minimal supervision, interacting directly with stakeholders and making executive decisions on behalf of the CEO and agency; lead key negotiations.
* Provide advice and recommendations to Executive Team, Board and Committees on performance, policy & operational matters, including complex and contentious issues.
* Lead provision of modern, business‑focused corporate support services – Annual Budgeting cycle and Financial Management, Property, Estates and Building Management, Human Resources, Organisational Development, Business Strategy and Planning, Procurement and Contract Management.


Qualifications

* Fully qualified or partially qualified accountant with relevant accounting qualifications and up‑to‑date CPD.
* Strong technical expertise in financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting and statutory reporting.
* Proven understanding of the FReM, SPFM and audit requirements, ideally within a public sector organisation.
* Ability to analyse financial proposals, advise on policy implications and ensure robust financial governance.
* Executive experience in budget & business planning and resource allocation aligned with corporate objectives.
* Experience developing and monitoring key performance measures at a corporate level, navigating productivity in ambiguous and complex operational environments.
* Experience at Senior/Executive level in public sector, familiar with FReM and SPFM guidelines.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Extensive project management experience in large or complex projects; preferably leading project teams.
