We’re looking for an SEN Teacher to take on a small KS3 pre‑formal sensory class in a specialist setting. The class has pupils with complex needs who communicate non‑verbally and learn best through sensory engagement, structure and co‑regulation. You’ll be supported by a consistent team of three experienced support staff, and you’ll have the freedom to shape a calm, sensory‑rich curriculum that fits each pupil’s needs. About the class 6 pupils, all non‑verbal (one using a few key words) Highly sensory approach: engagement, communication and exploration Pupils rely on predictable routines and strong co‑regulation Close work with therapists and the wider MDT We’re looking for someone who Has experience teaching PMLD/SLD and understands pre‑formal learning Is comfortable leading a team and providing clear structure Can run a timetable with TacPac, sensory stories, intensive interaction, movement and regulation Prioritises engagement and wellbeing above academic outcomes Works calmly and collaboratively with therapists and support staff What you can expect A settled class, a supportive leadership team and a clear routine already in place — they just need someone who understands pre‑formal teaching and can step in confidently.
