Your Role\n\nOur engineering works cover a range of different sectors and apprentices are based within a variety of different teams working on a wide range of projects, so the type of roles that we have are really varied and interesting. From day one on site you will be with an experienced team of professionals, supporting you to learn and grow your career as a BAM apprentice.\n\nCivil Engineers are the construction professionals who make up our site supervisory and management team. Our Civil Engineering Apprentices work predominantly on site, turning designs into reality. Your day to day will include:\n\nProject Support\n\nCollaborating with experienced engineers on the design, planning and execution of civil engineering projects\nCommunicating effectively at all levels\nAssist with planning and coordination of site activities\nMaintaining good working relationships with client, designer, supply chain and others\n\nTechnical Development\n\nGain hands-on experience with engineering tools and processes\nLearn how to use specialist setting out equipment\n\nProblem Solving\n\nLearn how to overcome challenges on live projects\nDrive quality through effective planning and right first time delivery\n\nOn-Site Experience\n\nBe part of real construction projects and work closely with our skilled workforce, applying your learning and knowledge in real world scenarios\nMaintain diaries of site activity\n\nSafety and Sustainability\n\nHelp to ensure that work is carried out safely in line with the company Health and Safety.\nMaintaining high personal standards in health and safety\nMaintaining high standards in environmental awareness and behaviour\nMonitoring and recording delivery against the agreed programme and construction methods\nEnsuring that works are accurately and clear set out before work commences\n\n\n\nWhat you'll need\n\n\n\nAcademic Requirements\n\nScottish National 5 (N5) qualification with grades A or B\n\nPlus\n\n4 x Highers including Maths (Minimum BBBB)\n\nor\u00A0\n\nModern Apprenticeship (MA) in Civil Engineering SCQF 5/6\n\n\n\n Join BAM and be part of a company delivering world-class construction and civil engineering solutions across the UK.
