Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cost Planner (Project Finance Analyst) responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial information to support analysis and reporting of Thames Digital’s financial position. Developing and managing relationships with programme managers and the delivery team will be key.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accountable for all financial measurement and reporting within your portfolio of projects/programmes, supporting programme managers with investment requests.
2. Ensure SAP reflects all financial/outcome information and support the development and management of cost models, ensuring expenditure stays within budget and funding controls.
3. Participate in monthly finance reviews with stakeholders, providing insights and challenging where necessary.
4. Monitor financial progress monthly, alerting programme managers of potential control breaches.
5. Review month-end actuals and forecasts, understanding their implications against budgets.
6. Liaise with cost centre accountants to ensure correct charges and POs are raised and reported between CAPEX/OPEX.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience with financial reporting and budgeting.
* Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially advanced Excel functions, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and SAP.
* High attention to detail and ability to handle complex data.
* Knowledge of Project Accounting and experience managing multiple projects with conflicting priorities.
* Experience in month-end reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
* Ability to scrutinize, challenge, and find solutions to financial questions.
Working Conditions
Hybrid role with 2 days in Reading, 36 hours per week.
