Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, your role will be to oversee 10 electricians on a day to day basis providing first line management as well as technical guidance. You will act as the technical expert for the north and manage the team's paperwork on behalf of the NICEIC and ensuring legislative compliance as well as helping to price remedial works and do some basic QS work on the contract.
Responsibilities
* Supervising a team of engineers working across the north - some based in Wakefield with the management team and some on other sites.
* Wakefield base, Monday to Friday - 8am - 4:30pm (on site parking)
* Visit other sites to see engineers and assess their work - the other sites are in Glasgow, Northumberland, Nottingham and Milton Keynes - sites to be visited every 4-12 weeks depending on requirements.
* Most visits will take place when you remedials/QS works are needed on the site.
* Though the role is mostly hands off, there might be occasions when time constraints require you to keep you hand in and do some testing.
* Upskilling engineers as required and showing them best practice with electrical building services.
* Completing quotations for remedial works and acting as electrical QS when required.
* Managing testing paperwork to ensure compliance and working NICEIC to ensure all electrical kit is testing in a timely and safe manner.
Qualifications
* Electrical Apprenticeship
* City and Guilds 2391 Test and inspection or equivalent
* Commercial/Industrial experience
* People Management Experience
* Desirable - pricing remedial works
* Desirable - Electrical QS experience
* Driving license required to travel between sites
