The Role
The Site Assistant will work closely with the Site Team to maintain the school buildings and grounds to a high standard, ensuring a safe, secure, and attractive environment for pupils and staff. The school boasts beautiful grounds, including the historic 200-year-old Castle building, the old vicarage Glyn House in Church Street, as well as Chessington Lodge and a new sixth form facility. Although based at the Senior School, the role covers all four sites in Ewell Village.
Candidates should have previous maintenance experience or relevant transferable skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, along with good communication skills, is essential. The role involves varied maintenance and repair tasks.
The working hours follow a rota pattern but generally include 07:00 - 15:00, 10:00 - 18:00, and 12:00 - 22:00, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required. Benefits include 25 days of holiday plus Bank Holidays. Occasional attendance at school open events and Saturday lettings is also expected.
The school is committed to safeguarding and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service, will be required.
