Responsibilities

* Activate the hotel’s overall sales strategy
* Manage relationships between on‑property sales and above‑property sales teams, including Hilton Worldwide Sales support
* Manage all market segments through B2B relationships and execute the sales plan for all customer‑facing activities
* Position the hotel with key company and agency partners across all segments
* Identify opportunities in Meetings, Conference & Events to maximise return, focusing on multi‑year deal and repeat event opportunities
* Grow the existing client base and drive conversion of direct enquiries, while identifying new business opportunities
* Coordinate prospecting and team engagement during Global Weeks of Sales & Engagement and other sales initiatives
* Audit business mix to ensure the right segments for outstanding results and offer cross‑sell opportunities to new and existing customers
* Attend and participate in sales initiatives, customer appointments and tradeshows as required
* Compile and deliver the hotel sales plan and all related activity to achieve sales‑influenced segments
* Track production of targeted accounts and new opportunities through measurement systems and Delphi
* Manage key retention and acquisition of accounts and ensure short‑term and long‑term sales plans are effective
* Support hotel teams to convert key opportunities and drive performance against personal and team goals
* Maintain effective processes for recruitment, induction, training and development of all sales people and create succession plans
* Coach, mentor and conduct regular performance reviews, celebrating success and refocusing effort where targets are missed
* Ensure the team receives clear goals and appropriate objectives/targets, including expectations around customer‑facing activities and conduct
* Provide and promote training in line with global Hilton sales training programs
* Ensure sales incentive plan is embedded and relevant across the organisation
* Deliver performance feedback to subordinates and provide development and mentoring opportunities
* Support measurement against key targets such as Sales Incentive Plan, hotel performance to budget, sales‑influenced segments and MICE targets


Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Excellent communication skills – presentations, written and public speaking
* Ability to direct collaboration across cross‑functional teams, including external resources
* Analytical capability to interpret departmental financial data for strategic decisions
* Highest standards of ethical behaviour and discretion with sensitive information
* Initiative to identify, prioritise and implement actions to achieve functional goals
* Deep understanding of client business and category, including business plans, competitive environment and distribution channels / product financials
* Comprehensive knowledge of the local and UK market and industry for budget recommendations
* Ability to recommend segmentation, targeted proposals, assess marketing implications and manage profitability across all segments
* Team playing mindset with leadership to resolve conflicts and drive collaboration
* Budget development and management skills
* Independent work capability and ability to manage others’ work
* Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to prevent potential issues
* Capacity to provide development and mentoring, deliver performance feedback and improve overall team performance
* University degree at bachelor level or equivalent; significant work experience in similar roles with people‑management experience
* Experience working in multi‑cultural or international settings
* Fluency in spoken and written English


Preferred

* Significant hospitality industry experience in a sales role
