Our Client are an established, privately owned principal main contractor who deliver new build, refurbishment and fit out projects across the South of East of England. With over 30 years experience in their field they offer a great opportunity for career development and to be part of a growing business.
Having recently been awarded a £15million new build construction project based in Essex they are now looking to hire an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the business and have full ownership of this scheme.
Duties:
* Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for construction projects.
* Procure and manage subcontractor packages including issuing enquiries, analyzing quotations, and placing orders.
* Conduct monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of final costs and sales.
* Monitor and manage project costs and commercial performance.
* Administer contract variations, claims, and change orders.
* Prepare interim and final accounts, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.
* Attend site meetings and liaise with project teams, clients, and subcontractors.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Contribute to risk and value management processes.
* Support the resolution of contractual and commercial issues.
Requirements:
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
* Proven experience working for a main contractor on construction projects.
* Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., JCT, NEC).
