This is your chance to shape the future of Caterpillar engineers by delivering hands-on, impactful training to apprentices in the Construction Equipment and Electric Power sectors.
Position Overview
As a Technical Trainer, you will mentor apprentices and guide them through their journey, ensuring they are well-prepared for their End Point Assessment (EPA). Your expertise will help cultivate the next generation of skilled engineers!
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver structured training aligned with:
o CEMT & LBSE Level 2 & 3 Apprenticeship Standards
o MOET & EMT Level 3 Apprenticeship Standards
* Support apprentices throughout their journey:
o Assess E-portfolio assignments and provide constructive feedback
o Conduct regular progress reviews and set development goals
o Create inclusive and engaging sessions using blended learning techniques
o Maintain accurate records and contribute to programme reporting
o Collaborate with internal teams to align training with business needs
o Champion diversity and inclusion in recruitment and training
o Continuously improve training delivery based on feedback and evaluation
o Stay current with industry standards and maintain your own professional development
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential
* Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance or a related field
* Relevant engineering experience in construction, electric power, or similar
* Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment, or a strong desire to learn
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint)
* Ability to deliver engaging, structured training
* Understanding of Health & Safety and EDI (Equality, Diversity & Inclusion)
Desirable
* Experience delivering apprenticeship or further education programmes
* Assessor or teaching qualifications (e.g., TAQA, A1, Assessor Award) or willingness to achieve with support
* Coaching or mentoring experience
