This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in premises management or maintenance who is ready to make a meaningful impact in an educational setting. Role Overview: As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for the security, upkeep, and cleanliness of the school premises. You’ll play an essential part in ensuring a safe and functional environment for learning, supporting both staff and pupils throughout the school day. Responsibilities as a Caretaker: Safeguard and maintain the building and grounds, including minor repairs and general maintenance tasks. Open and close the school premises daily, ensuring all security systems are active and functional. Carry out regular health and safety checks and report any concerns promptly. Assist with moving furniture, deliveries, and setting up rooms for school events. Manage site cleanliness and liaise with cleaning staff where necessary. Support emergency procedures and help maintain a safe school environment. Requirements for a Caretaker: Previous experience as a caretaker, premises officer, or in a facilities management role is highly desirable. Good knowledge of basic DIY and maintenance skills. Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently with a proactive attitude. Understanding of health and safety protocols within a school environment.
