Are you a registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with a passion for providing exceptional care? We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Psychologist to join our Hospital Liaison Psychiatry service. This is a key role within the senior clinical team.
Flexible work patterns available. Part time applications will be considered.
The Service – Liaison Psychiatry
The Liaison psychiatry service provides mental health advice and support to individuals receiving care at general hospitals in Kent and Medway. Staff can refer anyone over 18 who attends A&E or is an inpatient on a medical or surgical ward. The team offers advice, support, or full mental and psychological health assessments as appropriate. By integrating physical and mental health, the service supports collaborative, effective care.
Location: Dartford Liaison Service, Jasmine Centre, Dartford, Kent, DA2 8DA. Band 8a, Permanent, Full-time/Part-time/Flexible working. Salary £57,888–£64,880 per year (pro rata for part-time). High Cost Area Allowance applies.
Responsibilities
* Offer high-quality assessment and brief interventions for people in distress related to mental and physical health conditions.
* Consultation, supervision of other practitioners, facilitation of reflective practice, and teaching within the multi-disciplinary and hospital team.
* Develop own practice while supporting the team to deliver flexible, high-quality services and quick, effective access for patients, carers, and the public.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Doctorate-level or equivalent BPS approved qualification in Clinical/Counselling Psychology
* HCPC registration
* Experience in a range of clinical settings; ability to support people in acute distress
* Good assessment and formulation skills; psychometric testing
* Effective multidisciplinary team working
* Experience supervising/teaching; reflective practice; ability to flexibly adapt to needs/setting
Desirable
* Previous A&E Liaison or long-term conditions experience
