We at Pilgrim Foodservice Ltd are expanding our People Department and we require someone who enjoys working in a kind, dynamic and vibrant team, where no two days are ever the same! As a People Advisor you will provide HR support to the manager, taking an active role in contributing towards HR Solutions in line with the People Strategy. You will work alongside the People Officer and Recruitment Controller providing support with employee relation case work, recruitment, policy and process updates, learning, training and development. This role has a key focus on providing advice and guidance to managers on all HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, and absence management, as well as supporting managers and the Recruitment Controller with recruitment, selection and inductions to the business. Responsibilities will include:
* Provide advice and support to all managers on a day-to-day basis, on all ER issues including investigations, disciplinaries, grievance, performance and absence issues
* Assist implementing tools to aid staff retention, identifying areas of improvement within the organisation and provide suitable solutions
* Support and evolve the development of company policies and procedures, ensuring legal and best practice compliance
* Ensure all relevant information is provided to the Payroll team in a timely manner
* Assist with the recruitment and onboarding processes including conducting inductions and liaising with managers to arrange an induction program
* Provide advice regarding aspects of the recruitment process to ensure best practice and a fair and consistent approach is maintained
* Support in building and updating of job descriptions and person specifications
* Support in any Learning & Development initiatives, including the Apprenticeship Levy
* Ensure information is processed efficiently and accurately for new starters and for amendments to existing employee terms and conditions, including contracts and any documents required for the payroll department
* Ensure starters and leavers are processed utilising the systems in place and informing the necessary departments
* Initiate, monitor and update database records and personal record files in order to maintain accurate data and to ensure all documentation required is held on file and meets compliance checks
* Act as the first contact point for managers and employees, providing accurate and timely HR information and advice
* Support the HR team in research and analysis to enable the implementation of projects and the achievement of the HR objectives
* Contribute to the continual improvement in the provision of HR practice within the business, by suggesting changes to working practices to improve customer service and efficiency including means of enhancing the job holders own personal performance
