Basis/Location: Full or Part Time, based in North–East England/Hybrid Working. Salary/Benefits: Competitive and negotiable, dependent upon qualifications and experience. L2 Business Consulting Limited is a small to medium enterprise (SME) based in North Shields near Newcastle upon Tyne, operating across the UK. We provide technical consultancy advice to sectors including nuclear, oil/gas, manufacturing, FMCG, veterinary, and academia. Our primary service is radiation protection consultancy, including appointment as Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) under IRR17 to a variety of clients. L2 is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
Job Description
We are seeking a Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) with a current certificate of competence to join our team. Reporting to the Head of the RPA Body, you will support our team of health physicists. Responsibilities include providing technical support to clients through site inspections, technical reports, calculations, documentation reviews, training, procedure development, survey result reviews, dosimetry analysis, radiation risk assessments, dose assessments, and radiological design basis development for new facilities. Additionally, you will work with clients on Environmental Permitting related to radioactive sources and waste, including making RSA Environmental Permit applications and developing environmental dose assessments, BAT cases, and management arrangements.
Qualifications and Requirements
You should have a relevant science degree (radiation protection, chemistry, physics, biology, or environmental science) and hold a current certificate of competence as a Radiation Protection Adviser. You must have the right to work in the UK (British Citizenship, Indefinite Leave, or Settled Status). A UK driving licence is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams is necessary. You will also need to obtain BPSS clearance through the company.
