Job Overview
As our new Chef, you'll be a key player in our kitchens, working with our small team to deliver a high standard of food across both of our cafes and events. You'll be involved in all aspects of the kitchen operation, from food prep and cooking to menu development and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. This is a mainly a daytime role, allowing for a good work-life balance while still offering the excitement of a busy kitchen.
Main Duties
* Food preparation and cooking: You'll be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide range of dishes, including sandwiches, salads, hot lunches, and baked goods, following our established recipes and standards.
* Menu development: We're always looking to innovate You'll have the opportunity to contribute to our daily specials and seasonal menu changes, bringing your own creative flair to the kitchen.
* Kitchen management: You'll help with inventory management, stock rotation, and ordering. Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen and ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed is also crucial.
* Teamwork: You'll work closely with the rest of the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service and a positive customer experience.
* Quality control: You'll ensure every dish that leaves the kitchen is of the highest quality and presentation.
Required Experience
* Proven experience as a chef or cook in a cafe, restaurant, or similar food service environment.
* A strong passion for food and a genuine interest in fresh, quality ingredients.
* Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (a relevant qualification is a bonus).
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Flexibility to work between our two locations as needed.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
