Credit Management department is the second line of defence (2LoD) credit function that is responsible to prepare risk assessment reports and credit recommendations in support of existing and new business for the Bank. As a Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for the analysis of Credit Risk in the Bank. You will support sustainable and healthy business development at acceptable risks to the Bank. You will ensure the Bank of China Group’s policy, risk appetite and regulatory requirements are adhered to. This is a full time permanent position. Key responsibilities Assess proposals submitted to Credit Management department from the front office departments of the Bank of China (UK) Ltd and Bank of China London Branch, and write credit reports in respect of the business proposals. This includes research and evaluation of counterparty management, industry and transaction risk, financial accounts, cash flows and forecasts as well as identifying the key risks and mitigating them in the proposal Attend Credit Committees to present a summary of credit reports to the relevant Committee and answer any questions from Committee members Compose and update credit applications including waiver requests, limit renewals and proposals for new transactions Manage individual allocated portfolio Take ownership of complex and infrequent processes or problems, answering enquiries and other relevant matters made by other departments and internal and external stakeholders Advise internal stakeholders on topics not limited to business strategy, product launches, portfolio management and monitoring Manage and regularly monitor the risk situations of borrowers in an allocated portfolio, as well as industry risks where particular responsibility for an industry has been allocated Review and enhance select internal processes with a view to adopt a dynamic risk-based approach commensurate with the low risk profile of the corporate portfolio Assist with preparing statistics reports relating to the Bank’s businesses, portfolios and sectors Manage the CCMS approval process from start to completion and to work with front office to manage time frames and expectations Requirements Degree educated in a Finance, Business or Economics Relevant professional qualification is considered useful (e.g. MBA, ACIB, CFA, FRM) Good knowledge of banking products and risks associated with them Good knowledge of legal documentation specific to Banking and CCP businesses Demonstrated financial and modelling skills Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills Excellent communication skills Fluency in Mandarin is preferred Team player Able to work in a fast paced environment Report writing skills Attention to details Commercial awareness Working here Having a presence in the UK for more than 90 years, Bank of China London Branch has been providing an excellent financial service to the market and maintain its competitive edge as an international bank operated in the UK.
