Responsibilities
* Assist qualified physiotherapists in delivering high‑quality rehabilitation care and facilitating safe discharges from hospital.
* Work directly with patients to carry out treatment programmes as directed by the physiotherapists and report back.
* Assist physiotherapists with more complex patients.
* Perform moving and handling tasks with patients.
* Collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team, attend handovers and feed information into and back from the therapy team.
* Manage equipment, carry out cleaning duties and perform general IT tasks, including note writing and data collection for audit purposes.
* Motivate patients to maximise their rehabilitation potential and manage your own caseload under direction of qualified therapists.
* Attend handovers and board rounds to help plan patient care.
Qualifications
* Previous experience working on a hospital ward is advantageous.
* Strong moving and handling skills with patients.
* Empathetic nature and excellent communication skills with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
* Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
* Ability to motivate and encourage patients in their therapy sessions.
* Good general IT skills.
