SEN Teaching Assistant – Mainstream School – Newmarket – Start Date ASAP
Prospero Teaching are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Newmarket. This is a full‑time, Monday-Friday position supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs within a mainstream classroom environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident practitioner with strong SEN experience who is passionate about helping children access learning, build confidence, and thrive socially and academically.
The school is looking for a patient, resilient and proactive TA who can provide high‑quality support, adapt learning, and build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
📌 CONTRACT DETAILS
1. Location – Newmarket
2. Position – SEN Teaching Assistant (Mainstream School)
3. Type of work – SEN support (1:1 and/or in‑class support)
4. Start date – ASAP
5. Duration – Ongoing / Long‑term
6. Full time/part‑time – Full time, Monday-Friday
7. Minimum rate of pay – £90-£110 per day
8. Hours – School hours (approx. 8:30am – 3:30pm)
📚 EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
9. Experience working with SEN in a mainstream school (essential)
10. Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs
11. Understanding of behaviour strategies and differentiated support
12. Up‑to‑date Safeguarding training (desirable)
13. Relevant TA/SEN qualifications (desirable)
✔️ TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
14. Hold Right to Work in the UK
15. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
16. Provide two professional child‑related references
