Opportunity Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Electrician to join HMP Nottingham.
Work Schedule
There will be a need to work weekends on a 1 in 3 rota basis, with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary. The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week, across 7 days where a weekend shift pattern is in place.
Role Responsibilities
* Perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance.
* Diagnose and replace failed domestic electrical components.
* Respond to breakdowns, ensuring all works are carried out under the appropriate Safe System of Work and in a timely manner.
* Actively fault find and problem solve on domestic electrical systems across the prison.
* Undertake electrical installation activities in accordance with provided designs and IET Wiring Regulations.
* Test and inspect electrical installations following current IEE wiring regulations.
* Monitor and order critical spares for all electrical services.
Candidate Requirements
Appropriate technical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, NVQ level 3 or above).
BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations, specifically 18th Edition.*
Experience in electrical maintenance activities, general distribution, installation, and testing.
Knowledge of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.
Ability to work at heights.
*If you currently hold 17th Edition, we will sponsor you to upgrade to 18th Edition; terms and conditions apply.
Desirable skills include IT skills, and experience with fire alarm and CCTV systems, although training will be provided if needed.
