Software Test Engineer
Salary circa £60,000 + bonus & excellent benefits
Stevenage | 5 days per week on-site

We’re working with a highly advanced engineering organisation developing cutting-edge simulation technology used within complex, mission-critical environments. They are looking for a Software Test Engineer to join a specialist simulation software team responsible for ensuring high-quality software releases across sophisticated real-time systems.
This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of software, simulation, testing and systems engineering within a collaborative Agile environment.
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting the full software testing and proving lifecycle for simulation software releases
* Developing and executing software test plans, test cases and test specifications
* Performing software verification, qualification and defect testing activities
* Analysing software logs and data to identify and investigate issues
* Supporting CI/CD testing activities and release processes
* Working closely with software developers, support teams and project leads
* Producing detailed test and analysis reports for certification and compliance purposes
What we’re looking for:
* Experience within software testing or software test automation
* Strong understanding of log analysis and software debugging processes
* Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Agile environments
* Experience with tools such as GitLab, JIRA and scripting technologies
* Understanding of compliance, verification or regulated engineering environments
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Simulation or emulator software environments
* Linux networking or analysis tools
* AI-driven test automation tooling
* IBM DOORS / ALM / ETM exposure
