Responsibilities
* Case Management – Support one of the Lead Lawyers on high value, complex injury Defendant caseloads within a small team. Caseloads vary by team; details given at application.
* Accountability – Communicate and develop relationships with clients and the claimant’s legal team; maintain exceptional service through proactive case management.
* Research & Analysis – Conduct legal research and analyse medical records, liability documents, Part 35 reports and witness statements to prepare comprehensive advice on indemnity, liability and quantum issues.
* Court Representation – Participate in hearings, joint settlement meetings, mediations, arbitrations and trials as part of a team.
* Development – Contribute to the development of junior team members; delegate appropriately to support team success.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Qualified solicitor or CILEX (equivalent to 3-4 years PQE).
* Significant experience in large loss or catastrophic injury files; capable of handling a caseload with supervision or contributing at a high level on complex cases.
* Defendant experience preferred; claimant experience at suitable seniority will be considered.
* Understanding of case law, litigation practice and Court Practice Rules relevant to high value claims; strong ability to research and analyse legal principles.
* Strong technical knowledge on liability, quantum, and procedural issues (e.g., interim payment applications).
* Excellent organisational and IT skills; good interpersonal communication skills with colleagues, clients and third parties.
