Overview
Pepper Advantage is one of the leading specialist loan servicing companies in the UK and we are currently looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Uxbridge, London office.
You will be responsible for the design, management, and security of Azure, Microsoft 365, and on-premises infrastructure, with a strong focus on automation, endpoint management, networking, and resilience. You will play a key role in delivering infrastructure projects, strengthening security posture, and ensuring reliable, high-performance IT services across the business.
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation of a 2-3 days per week office attendance following a period of office base training.
Responsibilities
* Administering, maintaining, and enhancing Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and on-prem Active Directory environments, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
* Overseeing endpoint management and automation via Intune and SCCM (Configuration Manager), including application deployment, patching, and device compliance.
* Designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure infrastructure services, including VMs, networking, storage, and security controls.
* Supporting and maintaining Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams platforms, ensuring high availability and user productivity.
* Managing and optimising firewall and network infrastructure, including Palo Alto and Meraki technologies.
* Strengthening endpoint protection and security posture using Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Security & Compliance Cenrer, and related toolsets.
* Contributing to technical architecture decisions and project delivery, including migrations, upgrades, and integrations.
* Performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis across infrastructure, networking, and application layers.
* Managing, maintaining and optimising a Microsoft Virtual Desktop environment
* Participating in business continuity, DR testing, and infrastructure capacity planning.
* Maintaining accurate, high-quality technical documentation and configuration baselines
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a senior technical infrastructure role within a hybrid enterprise environment.
* Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Azure AD, Intune, and SCCM.
* Deep understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
* Strong practical experience with Microsoft 365 administration and Exchange Online.
* Advanced knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and enterprise networking (ideally Palo Alto and Meraki).
* Proficient in PowerShell scripting, automation, and configuration management.
* Demonstrated capability in infrastructure hardening, endpoint protection, and compliance alignment.
* Track record of delivering infrastructure projects end-to-end in collaboration with IT leadership.
* Familiarity with Azure Automation, Conditional Access, Graph API, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
* Experience with Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, or other SIEM/SOC tools.
* Knowledge of IIS, or Exchange Server (on-prem).
* Vulnerability management, endpoint telemetry, or asset visibility platforms.
* Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Cybersecurity Architect / Enterprise Administrator Expert or equivalent.
