Job Description
As the Automation Service Engineer you will be tasked with the following;
3. Perform preventive maintenance during scheduled machine stops, including sensor calibration, system checks, and backup procedures.
4. Conduct troubleshooting and corrective maintenance for system failures.
5. Support commissioning and start-up of new automation equipment.
6. Provide technical advice to customer technicians on equipment usage and maintenance.
7. Recommend preventive part replacements to maximize system uptime.
8. Identify and report opportunities for process improvement and promote Voith products where applicable.
9. Maintain regular standby availability for limited call-out time.
10. Collaborate with experts via VPN hotline support when needed. Automation Systems Covered
11. Quality Control Systems (QCS): scanners, sensors
12. Machine Direction (MD) and Cross Direction (CD) controls and actuators
13. DCS systems (primarily Siemens PCS7)
14. Field instruments and felt condition measurement
15. Machine condition monitoring systems
16. Communication protocols: Canbus, Fieldbus, Profibus
The Successful Applicant
A successful Automation Service Engineer should have:
17. Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field
18. Proven experience in industrial automation, preferably in the paper industry
19. Strong understanding of control systems, sensors, and actuators
20. Familiarity with Siemens PCS7 and industrial communication protocols
21. Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
22. Ability to work independently and proactively
23. Willingness to travel and participate in standby rotations
