The Mill Restaurant & Bar in Stowmarket is a thriving Destination for great fresh food in the heart of Stowmarket. We have an excellent team, and are looking to employ a head chef which takes pride in what they deliver.
The Role
We're looking for a Head Chef who's ready to take charge of a lively kitchen and lead from the front. You'll be hands-on, driving menu ideas, keeping standards high, and making sure every plate that leaves the pass is something to be proud of. It's the perfect role if you love being creative while keeping the team motivated and the kitchen running smoothly.
What You'll Be Doing
Leading and inspiring the kitchen team day-to-day.
Creating menus that balance much-loved classics with exciting seasonal dishes.
Keeping flavour, presentation, and consistency spot on.
Managing stock, ordering from suppliers, and keeping an eye on costs.
Making sure hygiene and safety standards are always top-notch.
Working closely with the management team to deliver an amazing guest experience.
Training and developing the team so everyone's growing their skills.
What We're Looking For
Experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef, or Senior Chef in a busy hospitality environment.
A real passion for fresh, quality ingredients and dishes with personality.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to bring the best out of your team.
Solid understanding of menu planning, cost control, and smooth kitchen operations.
Organised, adaptable, and a great communicator.

We are looking for someone who can work on their own initiative as well as with the overall team within the kitchen.
The right candidate must have at least 2 years' experience within a fast paced environment with attention to detail high on their agenda. Management experience is desirable.
Level 2 health and hygiene certificate and first aid at work would be an advantage but not essential for the right person as training will be provided.
