Location - Staffscanner HQ, Glasgow (full-time, office-based)
Salary - Up to £75,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract Type - Full-Time, Permanent
Reporting To - Group Managing Director
Role Purpose
Staffscanner is entering a critical phase of growth and organisational maturity. The Director of People & Culture will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping, professionalising, and embedding a high-performing, values-led people function that supports both our commercial objectives and our commitment to our people.
This role will be responsible for elevating employee culture, engagement, wellbeing, and performance across the organisation. The postholder will build and lead a small people team, develop robust people strategies, and ensure that Staffscanner operates with strong governance, compliance, and risk management across all HR-related matters.
The successful candidate will combine strategic capability with hands-on delivery, thriving in a fast-paced, founder-led environment.
Key Responsibilities
People Strategy & Leadership
• Develop and implement a clear People & Culture strategy aligned to Staffscanner’s business objectives and growth plans.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team on all people-related matters.
• Build, lead, and develop a small people team, establishing scalable systems and processes appropriate for a growing organisation.
• Champion Staffscanner’s values and behaviours, embedding them consistently across the employee lifecycle.
Culture, Engagement & Wellbeing
• Design and implement initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, inclusion, wellbeing, and retention.
• Foster a positive, high-performance culture that supports collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Lead employee listening activities and translate insights into tangible actions.
Learning, Development & Talent
• Develop and oversee frameworks for personal development, performance management, and career progression.
• Strengthen organisational capability through targeted training and development programmes.
• Own and evolve onboarding and induction processes.
• Support succession planning and talent development.
HR Operations & Employee Relations
• Lead all core HR operations.
• Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters.
• Ensure consistent application of HR policies and employment law best practice.
Risk, Compliance & Governance
• Manage organisational risk related to employment practices.
• Own and maintain HR policies and contracts.
• Act as primary accountability point for HR audits and legal matters.
Organisational Development & Change
• Support organisational change initiatives.
• Use data and insight to inform workforce planning.
• Continuously improve people processes.
Desirable Experience
• Experience within healthcare, technology, services, or high-growth environments.
• Experience operating within a highly regulated environment.
• CIPD Level 7 or equivalent.
• Experience leading culture or engagement transformation.
