The Role
As a Land and Planning Graduate, you’ll be part of our Land and Planning team, playing a key role at the earliest stage of the construction process—identifying / securing land for development and taking sites through the planning system
Working directly alongside our Land & Planning Manager your key responsibilities will include:
* Support and be an active part of the planning process across all sites
* Monitor the land bank and aim to maintain supply as is necessary
* Undertake land appraisals
* Support and be an active part of the land purchase process including legal and contractual negotiations
* Undertake market research and gain market and competitor knowledge.
* Challenge critical stages in the process where 'bottle necks' tend to appear to ensure; sites are purchased in a timely manner, planning is obtained within critical timescales and conditionality is cleared to allow for site commencement.
* Monitor costs regularly to ensure that budgets are not exceeded
* Supporting the administrative requirements of the team
There will also be opportunities to work within the consultancy arm of the business (DDC), working on large strategic landholdings for private sector clients and Local Authorities. This will involve working on the acquiring and disposal of land at the right level for clients and obtaining planning permissions on their behalf.

* 2:2-degree (or above) in BSc (Hons) Real Estate, BSc (Hons) Town Planning, BSc(Hons) Property Development and Planning, BSc (Hons) Geography, or similar.
* A 2:1-degree (or above) in any field will also be considered.
* A full UK Driving Licence with a willingness to travel around the Yorkshire region from the office based in South Yorkshire
* Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business
