A dynamic and inclusive secondary school in inner Manchester is seeking a Behaviour Support Mentor to work with students at risk of disengagement or exclusion. This pastoral role focuses on early intervention and restorative approaches to behaviour, working both in-class and through targeted 1:1 mentoring.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students in crisis or displaying challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques and school policy
* Deliver structured mentoring sessions focusing on emotional literacy, resilience, and social skills
* Collaborate with SEN, pastoral and safeguarding staff to develop personalised behaviour plans
* Reintegrate pupils returning from fixed-term exclusions back into a positive learning routine
What We’re Looking For:
* Background in youth work, support work, alternative provision, or school inclusion roles
* Awareness of issues impacting young people including trauma, anxiety, or SEMH needs
* Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure and provide consistent boundaries
* Previous experience with restorative approaches or Team Teach training is a bonus
