Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Systems Engineer and the Head of Operations, you'll contribute to analysing, unravelling, and extracting data from a Sage X3 environment, ensuring it's clean, structured and ready for migration into NetSuite, as a key part of a major financial systems transformation project.
Please note this is a one‑year fixed‑term role, open to dedicated contractors, freelancers or full‑time employees seeking a new project.
Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include
* Analyse and document the current state of a highly customised Sage X3 implementation, focusing on finance modules, to reverse‑engineer complex customisations and understand data flows.
* Develop and execute data extraction strategies for both standard and customised financial data from Sage X3 into SQL Server, ensuring its validation and readiness for NetSuite migration.
* Collaborate with the Finance, IT, and Systems teams to ensure technical solutions meet business needs by translating financial requirements into technical and data extraction specifications.
* Design and optimise SQL queries to interrogate databases and surface required financial datasets.
* Modify and optimise Crystal Reports, focusing on improving accuracy, performance, and output reliability by reducing complexity.
* Contribute to data mapping documentation between Sage X3 and NetSuite.
* Troubleshoot and resolve data‑related issues, including extraction errors, Crystal Reports discrepancies, SQL query performance, and incorrect or incomplete data relationships.
* Conduct root‑cause analysis for data anomalies, and participate in data reconciliation activities during test cycles and cutover.
Qualifications
* Over 4 years of hands‑on experience with Sage X3, including scripts, objects, processes, data dictionaries, and data import/export mechanisms.
* Proficiency in SQL Server, T‑SQL, and querying for data extraction and transformation.
* Experience designing, modifying, and troubleshooting Crystal Reports.
* Past or current involvement in at least one ERP migration or data transformation project.
* Knowledge of financial data structures and familiarity with accounting principles.
* You're good at adapting strategies and plans to navigate unforeseen circumstances.
* When faced with a problem, you collaborate with the appropriate people to evaluate different options find practical solutions.
