Reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, the Environmental and Sustainability Specialist (Senior Environmental Advisor) will play a key role in implementing Telent's Sustainability Strategy and supporting Business Units to meet waste and carbon reduction objectives, customer expectations, ISO14001, and legal requirements across our Rail and Asset Management divisions. This role involves up to 50% UK-wide travel and is agile in nature.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide specialist advice to EHS teams and project leads on environment and sustainability to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
2. Support risk management by defining environmental assurance regimes, including audit programs, and ensure effective practices through inspections and audits.
3. Assist in preparing sustainability and carbon reduction plans for contracts and bids.
4. Maintain performance data and generate carbon management reports for various requirements.
5. Review environmental aspects and impacts periodically, including climate change risks.
6. Support project teams in embedding sustainable and carbon reduction practices throughout the Project Life Cycle.
Candidate Profile:
Ideal candidates will have experience in a similar role within industries such as Rail, Telecoms, Utilities, or Construction.
Minimum Requirements:
1. PIEMA qualification.
2. ISO14001:2015 Lead Auditor certification.
3. Experience providing technical sustainability and environmental advice.
4. Proven track record in reducing environmental impact of equipment and infrastructure.
5. Experience managing complex projects involving technical and change management.
6. Full driving license and willingness to travel across the UK.
