Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to ensure the safe and efficient execution of lifting operations in the telecommunications sector, combining CPCS qualifications with specific industry expertise for an immediate start.
Ideally located in Central England with regular travel throughout UK and Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and oversee all lifting operations on telecom sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices
* Follow and execute lift plans for telecom equipment installation and maintenance
* Check paperwork and certifications for lifting equipment and accessories
* Conduct risk assessments and implement safe systems of work for lifting operations
* Communicate and coordinate with crane operators, riggers, and other team members
* Ensure proper setup of exclusion zones and site safety measures
* Conduct pre-lift briefings and toolbox talks
* Verify proper rigging techniques and use of lifting accessories
* Monitor weather conditions and assess impact on lifting operations
* Maintain accurate records and documentation of lifting activities
* Identify and mitigate potential hazards during lifts
* Ensure compliance with site-specific requirements and client standards
Required Qualifications:
* Valid CPCS Blue Card for A62 Crane Supervisor category
* CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test for Supervisors passed within last 2 years
* Extensive experience supervising lifting operations in the telecom industry
* Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and BS 7121 Code of Practice
Key Skills and Knowledge:
* Understanding of various crane types, capabilities, and limitations
* Ability to interpret lift plans, method statements, and risk assessments
* Familiarity with telecom equipment and structures
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* Knowledge of crane stability, ground conditions, and load calculations
Additional Requirements:
* Willingness to travel regularly to various sites throughout UK and Ireland
* Ability to work at heights and in challenging outdoor environments
