Speech and Language Therapist Band 5
We are looking for a full-time, Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join the Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapy team within Croydon Health Services NHS Trust on a fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity due to recent team changes.
The post is based in the acute service at Croydon University Hospital, covering all medical, elderly care, and surgical wards, including Intensive Care. There will be training and support to develop full dysphagia competencies. We have FEES and VF services available.
The role requires managing an appropriate caseload across the acute environment, assessing, diagnosing, treating, and discharging clients referred with communication and swallowing difficulties.
You will work as part of a team to provide an efficient, effective, and coordinated Speech and Language Therapy service.

Main duties of the job
1. Provide high-quality speech and language therapy to adult patients in hospital.
2. Manage and prioritize a defined caseload independently.
3. Assess and diagnose communication and swallowing disorders, making appropriate clinical decisions.
4. Reflect on all aspects of adult communication and identify strategies to enhance effectiveness.
5. Communicate complex and sensitive information to clients, carers, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
6. Accurately document and maintain high standards of clinical notes.

* Recognized Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification
* HCPC registered or in application
