Job Description
PRS are currently recruiting on behalf of a well established facilities management client who are expanding their shift team and looking to take on a Shift Technician based in London. This role requires previous experience on critical sites such as data centres.
Responsible for the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of critical electrical infrastructure within a high-availability data centre environment. Working within a 24/7 shift team to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and continuous operation of mission-critical systems.
Key responsibilities include carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), responding to alarms and incidents, and performing fault finding and first-line repairs on electrical systems including UPS, generators, LV switchgear, power distribution units (PDUs), and critical power systems. Regularly monitoring systems via BMS/EMS and completing routine inspections to identify potential issues before they impact operations.
Working in accordance with strict health & safety and permit-to-work procedures, including switching operations and supporting planned works within live critical environments. Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and operations teams to maintain uptime, support infrastructure upgrades, and ensure compliance with operational standards and service level agreements.
