A deep understanding of how the REF cycle works and knowing how to support this work in a high-achieving area whilst being respectful of workloads is crucial. An understanding of the research and impact landscape across the UK and internationally will help make the strongest applications, and knowledge of research collaboration beyond academia will strengthen this. Leading a direct team supportively and influencing beyond direct line management to foster a collective approach to supporting all aspects of a fully rounded research culture is essential.
About you
Our research across the faculty spans various disciplines, so experience in different research environments would be beneficial. Experience with different types of funders or partners is also important. Emotional intelligence is vital for bringing together diverse voices and approaches for everyone's benefit. An understanding of how to influence a research culture positively and support all members is highly advantageous. You will support multiple stakeholders and need to manage team workloads effectively. Experience working with colleagues from diverse backgrounds (e.g., academics, administrators) is helpful.
