1:1 Teaching Assistant – Sherborne
Location: Primary School, Sherborne | Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm | Pay: £89 – £95 per day
This role is to support a Key Stage 1 pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a well-regarded primary school in Sherborne. The successful candidate will contribute to a nurturing and structured learning environment and help the pupil reach their full potential.
Responsibilities
* Provide consistent one-to-one support tailored to the needs of a KS1 pupil with SEMH requirements
* Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver differentiated learning activities
* Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence
* Assist with classroom preparation, small group interventions, and supervision during playtimes
* Monitor and document pupil progress, contributing to the child’s personalised support plan
Qualifications / Requirements
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow teacher direction
* Reliable, proactive, and professional approach to supporting learning
* Full driving licence and access to transport is essential
* Ideally experience supporting children with SEMH; training will be provided where required
