Electrical Engineer - Assystem
Assystem, Bridgwater, United Kingdom
Hybrid position: three days on site in Bridgwater and two days from home. Candidates must live within a commutable distance or be open to relocation support. This role focuses on safe, compliant, and technically robust electrical systems on Hinkley Point C. You will collaborate with designers, contractors, and stakeholders to solve challenges and deliver project milestones.
Responsibilities
* Respond to general queries, non-conformances, change requests, and exemption requests
* Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulation requirements
* Challenge and align design decisions with overall project strategies
* Coordinate technical support from external organisations when required
* Contribute to the resolution and closure of outstanding technical issues
* Assess and mitigate technical risks within the electrical scope
* Build and maintain strong relationships with Responsible Designers and stakeholders
* Report operationally to an Engineering Lead and support wider delivery teams
* Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering
* Have experience in electrical design, installation, and/or commissioning
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of construction and installation industry standards
* Ability to independently manage and escalate technical issues
* Experience working in multidisciplinary technical environments
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Previous experience in a site-based engineering role
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering
* Experience in electrical design, installation, and/or commissioning
* Strong understanding of construction and installation industry standards
* Ability to independently manage and escalate technical issues
* Experience working in multidisciplinary technical environments
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Previous site-based engineering experience
