What you’ll do * Advise colleagues on commercial issues to reduce legal risk. * Draft and negotiate contracts that support services, suppliers and partners. * Spot legal issues early and give clear recommendations that guide decisions. * Build strong relationships so teams come to you before a problem grows. * Track transactions and share trends to help improve how we work. You’ll handle varied work involving suppliers as well as public sector partners, learning from experts and shaping how Home Group manages risk.

You have * Proven experience of handling your own workload and providing sound independent legal advice. * Confidence in identifying commercial risks and negotiate commercial contracts independently. * Proven experience of supervising or mentoring members of a team, supporting other team members to make decisions. * A law degree or are a solicitor or barrister, or equivalent with experience in commercial and/or public sector legal work. * Sound knowledge of commercial contract and procurement law. * Knowledge and experience of Information Technology contracts could also be beneficial. * You have strong communication skills and build trusted relationships. The practical bits * You’ll work Monday to Friday, part-time will also be considered. * You’ll manage your own diary. * We typically work on a hybrid basis with 2 days per week in our Newcastle office, with the rest from home.
