Job Description: Business Development Manager (Global Markets)
The Business Development Manager (Global Markets) will be a key member of the Global Distribution Team, a
dedicated, global function responsible for help support and execute on AXIS Insurance’s business plans and overall strategy,
enhancing relationships, identifying new opportunities, and driving strategic engagement.
Reporting to the Head of Distribution (Global Markets) this role will work closely with the Global Markets Leadership Team and
Underwriting Business Unit Leaders, aligning strategy, engagement, and connectivity, to support AXIS’ go to market strategy, value
propositions, branding, marketing, and social media platforms to elevate AXIS’ brand in the London Market.
The successful candidate will be proactive in building relationships with Brokers, Producers and Client Executives, connecting contacts to
appropriate AXIS resources, and engaging across AXIS globally in a collaborative manner – in order to develop new business opportunities and support our global
trading relationships. The ideal candidate will support and enhance our broker relationships to deliver profitable growth.
What will you do in this role?
* Support/Enhance AXIS’ overall Distribution strategy and key priorities by Broker in alignment with underwriting appetite and ambitions;
* Developing a deep fundamental knowledge and understanding of AXIS key Brokers / Individuals for different Lines of Business and opportunities/initiatives;
* Building and managing productive relationships, including connecting AXIS colleagues as key owners, as appropriate (contact mapping);
* Working with the underwriting community and across all Axis functions to optimize relationships and drive profitable growth;
* Keeping abreast and informed on market and industry evolutions and identify opportunities to proactively offer solutions;
* Interfacing regularly with key decision makers externally and internally.
What you need to have:
* University degree or equivalent work experience;
* A minimum of eight (5) years of relevant experience with at least three (3) years in an external producer/client facing business development role within the insurance industry;
* Experience in building/supporting dynamic businesses, with knowledge of the London Market landscape, and evident relationships with senior level practitioners is preferred
* Ability to represent AXIS professionally when travelling.
