Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Lead Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy Team on the Hammersmith hospital site, which is part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. You will be part of the busy Pharmacy Dispensary and Distribution Team, providing a high quality, patient focused robotic dispensing and stock management service to the wards and clinics. You will also provide support to pharmacy stores.

Main duties of the job
* To assist with the training of new staff with the various applications used in the dispensary (e.g., Prescription tracker and CMM – Pharmacy labelling and stock maintenance computer system).
* To assist with the auditing of dispensary and distribution services.
* To coordinate the stock maintenance of sundries and personal protective equipment for the dispensary and offices.
* To assist with the receipt of medication into the dispensary or store, including receipt on the pharmacy computer system (ODELIV).
* To coordinate stock takes and adjust stock levels where a discrepancy is noted and assist in investigation of discrepancies, up to a limit of £500.
* To assist in the provision of a high quality 'topping up' and 'self-ordering' distribution service of pharmaceutical supplies to wards, clinics and associated areas.
* To assist with the training and quality assurance management of the top-up service.
* To ensure that stock levels for 'topped up' areas are appropriate and that stock is in date and rotated properly.
* To assist with stock list amendments (addition or removal of items, increasing levels, or temporary stock list additions).

Person specification
Education
* Essential criteria: GCSE in Maths and English (grade A-C).
Desirable criteria
* NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent e.g. Boots, Buttercups, NPA).
Experience
* Essential criteria: Able to work with computers; Experience working in a hospital or customer oriented environment.
Desirable criteria
* Experience using CMM system.
* Experience with Automated Dispensing Systems (Robot).
* Experience working in a community or hospital pharmacy, or dispensing GP practice.
Skills
* Essential criteria: Able to work under pressure; Good verbal and written English communication skills; Able to work both alone and within a team; Good ability to organise and prioritise work.
Desirable criteria
* A good understanding of all Microsoft Office programs.
