Historic Records Limited, established in May 2023, works with leading players in the family history market to provide digital images and transcriptions that help people connect with their ancestors. Based in our historic 18th Century building in Chelmsford, Essex, the company offers a unique and enriching work environment.
Role Description
This role is offered on an initial contract term of one year, based on a 35-hour week, with all work being undertaken at our office in Chelmsford, Essex.. As Digitisation Executive you will be responsible for digitising original papers, books and documents, transforming original material into digital media that can be viewed and shared by millions worldwide.
You will work on a number of different camerfa and scanning rigs and full training in both document handling and operating the hardware will be given. You will report to the IT Systems' Administrator.
About you. You will...
* Be educated to A-Level standard or equivalent
* Be smart, presentable, punctual and diligent
* Have a knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Have good attention to detail
* Have good communication skills, good organisational skills and common sense
* Be able to work independently, methodically and productively. You will have weekly targets which you will be expected to hit
* find that an interest in genealogy and family history will be advantageous, although this is not essential
Remuneration
* We offer a competitive salary within the range £15,652 to £20,930 depending on age and experience, and 25 days' paid holiday per annum.
