Our partner school is a specialist SEND setting in Southend-on-Sea, dedicated to supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. The school provides a nurturing, structured, and inclusive environment where every pupil is supported to achieve their full potential—academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Role
We are seeking a passionate and committed English Teacher to join the team at our partner school. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to pupils with a range of SEND, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is creative, resilient, and motivated to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons tailored to pupils with SEND
2. Differentiate learning to meet a wide range of abilities and needs
3. Support pupils’ literacy development, communication, and confidence
4. Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and external professionals
5. Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress
6. Contribute positively to the wider life of the school
❤️The Ideal Candidate Will Have
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
8. Experience teaching English (SEND experience desirable but not essential)
9. A strong understanding of differentiated and inclusive teaching practices
10. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
11. A calm, patient, and flexible approach
12. A genuine commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs
