Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively assigned again by our client, a well-established and rapidly expanding national business with a strong online presence and an excellent reputation for customer service and operational excellence. They are now seeking an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their friendly finance team and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

- Process and maintain accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently.

- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to ensure invoices are processed and paid on time.

- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly.

- Support month-end reporting and accounting processes.

- Maintain accurate filing systems and audit controls.

- Assist in improving systems and working methods, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.

- Provide general support to the wider finance team as needed.


The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable position, with strong IT and Excel skills. Experience using Sage or similar accounting software is highly desirable. You’ll be detail-oriented, organised, and accurate in your work, with a confident communication style and the ability to liaise effectively with both suppliers and colleagues. A proactive approach, strong problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work well under pressure to meet deadlines will be key to success in this role.
