Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Compliance to oversee and lead our compliance function within a Claims Management environment. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing compliance in a highly regulated environment, with extensive knowledge of Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations and a deep understanding of the Claims Management industry.

As Head of Compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring that all company operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, while maintaining an effective compliance culture across the organisation.


Key Responsibilities:

* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company’s claims management activities are compliant with all applicable FCA regulations and industry standards, including claims handling, customer communications, and data protection.
* Compliance Leadership: Lead, manage, and develop a team of compliance professionals, fostering a culture of compliance within the organisation. Provide training and guidance to ensure the team is well-equipped to handle regulatory changes.
* Policy Development & Oversight: Develop, implement, and maintain internal compliance policies and procedures in line with FCA rules and industry best practices. Monitor the company’s ongoing adherence to these policies.
* Risk Management: Proactively identify and assess regulatory and operational risks to the business. Work with senior management to create mitigation strategies and ensure that risk management controls are effectively implemented.
* Regulatory Reporting & Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact with the FCA. Manage all regulatory reporting requirements, respond to inquiries, and ensure the business remains compliant with regulatory obligations.
* Compliance Audits & Investigations: Oversee internal audits and compliance assessments, identifying potential areas for improvement and taking corrective action where necessary.
* Training & Awareness: Design and deliver compliance training programs to staff at all levels, ensuring a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and internal policies.
* Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with senior leadership, legal, risk, operations, and other key departments to ensure compliance is embedded throughout the organisation.
* Monitoring & Reporting: Implement and manage a robust compliance monitoring framework, providing regular reports to senior management on compliance issues, risks, and incidents.
* Industry Insights & Trends: Stay abreast of developments in regulatory frameworks and industry trends related to claims management, consumer protection, and financial services, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of compliance best practices.



Key Requirements:

* Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably within Claims Management or financial services.
* Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of FCA regulations, including those specific to claims management, consumer protection, financial services, and customer credit.
* Leadership: Proven experience in leading a compliance team, including the ability to manage, mentor, and inspire a team of professionals.
* Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of compliance management systems and reporting tools, with the ability to analyse regulatory data and ensure full compliance.
* Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory requirements clearly to both senior management and operational teams.
* Analytical Abilities: Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on risk management and problem-solving.
* Qualifications: A relevant compliance qualification (e.g., ICA Diploma in Compliance, ACAMS, etc.) is preferred but not essential.


Desirable Attributes:

* Experience within the Claims Management industry or a similar highly regulated sector (such as financial services or consumer credit).
* Strong knowledge of GDPR and data protection regulations as they pertain to claims management.
* The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
