Astute Recruitment are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to join our clients finance team in South Derbyshire. Reporting to the Finance Manager, youll play a key role in supporting the Finance Department, with responsibility for a range of transactional finance and accounting duties.
Key Responsibilities:
* Banking receipts
* Bank payments
* Bank reconciliations (very minimal daily transactions)
* Monitoring outstanding debtors
* Setting up the weekly payment run (Wednesday for Friday payment)
* Inputting wages from branch timesheets
* Month-end payment run
* Processing salaries and pensions (training will be provided; high accuracy required due to manual elements)
* Managing credit cards: issuing statements on the second working day, allowing two days for responses, then processing
* Processing expenses
* Supplier set-up
* Credit checks
* Invoice processing
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Skills & Experience:
* Previous finance experience in a similar transactional accounts role
* High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
* Experience using accounting systems and Excel
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
* A proactive team player with good communication skills
